Transport Canada is seeking a contractor to administer, operate and maintain the Îles-de-la-Madeleine Airport in Quebec. The work appears extensive and includes airport runways, taxiways, aprons, access roads, parking areas, terminal and other buildings, heavy equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and public parking lots. The contractor would also be responsible for regulatory compliance, site safety and security, and collaboration with Transport Canada on its Safety Management System. The proposed contract would run from April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2028, with options for up to two additional one-year periods. The tender is open and closes November 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for October 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. ADT at the airport. Bidders must confirm attendance by email with Suzanne Le Breton at [email protected] by October 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ADT. Failure to attend, or to send a representative, will make a bid non-responsive according to the notice. Bids must meet all mandatory requirements, pass the rated technical evaluation, and achieve the required minimum score. Award is expected to be based on the combined technical and price evaluation. Personnel who need access to protected information, assets or sensitive work sites must each hold valid Reliability Status before contract award. This opportunity may be relevant to businesses with airport or comparable facilities-management experience, qualified operations and maintenance personnel, safety and security capabilities, and the capacity to work at a remote Quebec airport.
