AAFC is seeking contractors for a cross-connection control project at its Beaverlodge Research Farm in Alberta. The work appears to involve installing approximately 35 backflow-prevention devices across 10 occupied buildings, including reduced-pressure assemblies, vacuum breakers, air gaps, check valves, mixing valves and related equipment. Plumbing modifications may be required to meet applicable codes, specifications and municipal requirements. The site will remain operational during construction, so bidders should be prepared for phased work, careful scheduling and coordinated water shut-downs with AAFC maintenance and research staff. Trades personnel will need to obtain Reliability Status security clearance before working on the property. The work is expected to be completed by May 3, 2027. This is a two-phase procurement. The initial submission is a qualification and experience package only. AAFC will assess Phase One submissions and invite successful bidders to Phase Two, which will address pricing and the detailed specifications and drawings. The final bid will combine the applicable Phase One and Phase Two submissions. Submissions must follow the instructions in Section 3 of the Invitation to Qualify and be sent to AAFC’s Bid Receiving Unit. The listed closing date is November 18, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.; however, bidders should confirm the exact deadline, time zone and submission instructions in the official Invitation to Qualify. The notice states that this solicitation cancels and supersedes an earlier solicitation, WSC-2627-149. The location data appears inconsistent because the project is described as being in Beaverlodge, Alberta, while the record lists Saskatchewan/Regina; verify the official documents for the correct work location and contracting details. This opportunity may be relevant to businesses with commercial or institutional plumbing, backflow-prevention and construction experience, as well as the capacity to work in occupied facilities and meet federal security and procurement requirements. The notice indicates that documents may be submitted in either official language. Businesses should review the complete solicitation and drawings, monitor the Government Electronic Tendering Service (GETS) for amendments and answers, and independently verify all requirements before submitting a bid. This summary does not determine whether a business qualifies.
