This appears to be an open Department of National Defence opportunity for a contractor to design, supply, install, and commission a depot-wide Emergency Broadcast System at CFAD Rocky Point, 5601 Rocky Point Road, Victoria, BC. The proposed system would need to provide clear audio and visual emergency alerts, comply with HERO standards, integrate with existing fibre infrastructure where practical, and support future expansion. The work may therefore be relevant to businesses with experience in emergency notification systems, public-address or visual alert systems, fibre/network integration, electrical or communications installation, commissioning, and defence or secure-site projects. Key considerations: - Closing time is listed as October 16, 2026 at 02:59. Confirm the applicable time zone and submission deadline in the official solicitation. - Security requirements and personnel or organization screening appear to apply. Review the security clauses and clearance requirements before deciding whether to bid. - An optional site visit is available. The notice indicates that personnel security screening is not required before accessing the site for this visit, but the official instructions should be checked carefully. - Bidders must provide information concerning contracts involving former public servants, as specified in the solicitation. - The Crown reserves the right to negotiate with suppliers. - Submissions may be made in either English or French. The available documents include the RFP, an amendment, fibre drawings, a question document, and an AFR form. Carefully review all documents for the mandatory technical specifications, security requirements, site-visit details, bid format, insurance, bonding, experience requirements, and delivery schedule. This opportunity potentially matches a qualified Canadian communications or systems-integration contractor, but the business should not assume it can bid successfully until the complete official tender documents are reviewed and all requirements are verified with Canada Buys.
