Parks Canada Agency is seeking contractors for Stage 1 prequalification for the renovation of the Black River pedestrian bridge in Kouchibouguac National Park, New Brunswick. The work appears to involve removing two existing bridge sections (approximately 14 m and 26 m), transporting them to a fabrication facility, removing and replacing decking and handrails, inspecting and repairing steel components, applying a specified three-coat coating system, and reinstalling the refurbished spans. Environmental protection, safety measures, engineered lifting, permits, transportation, and site cleanup are also required. This is not yet the final price-bid stage. Stage 1 will assess supplier qualifications. Suppliers that qualify may be invited to Stage 2, which is expected to include additional qualification requirements, an Indigenous Participation Plan, and a financial bid. The Stage 1 qualification list is expected to expire within 180 days or when the Stage 2 contract is awarded, whichever comes first. The work must be completed by March 31, 2027. The stated closing time is November 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. The notice lists New Brunswick and Cornwall, Ontario as locations, while the project description identifies Kouchibouguac National Park in New Brunswick; this location information should be confirmed in the official documents. Bids must be submitted only by email to [email protected] or by fax to 1-855-983-1808. Parks Canada will not accept bids through SAP Ariba, in person, by courier, or by email to another address. Email attachments must be used—links to documents will not be accepted—and the total email size must not exceed 15 MB. Multiple properly labelled emails may be needed for larger submissions. The opportunity appears potentially relevant to bridge rehabilitation, structural steel coating, heavy lifting, fabrication, transportation, and civil construction contractors with the required experience and resources. A business should review the full Stage 1 qualification requirements, forms, insurance, safety, bonding, permitting, and submission instructions before deciding whether to respond. Always verify the closing time, requirements, addenda, and accepted submission method in the official tender notice and solicitation documents before submitting a bid.
