The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is seeking a five-year standing offer for specialized engineering services and technical support for its Convair 580 research aircraft, operated by the Flight Research Laboratory in Ottawa, Ontario. The work appears to include: - Engineering studies and aircraft modifications to support external sensors - Design and analysis related to flight loads, aerodynamics, and flight testing - Support for maintenance, repairs, and ongoing technical issues - Design, machining, manufacture, and supply of hardpoints, pylons, components, and parts - Pylon completion, fit-out, and finishing - Procurement of additional parts and materials - Provision of engineering, design, and manufacturing data - Ordering and machining raw materials - Other related services or parts needed to keep the Convair 580 operational The notice indicates that support from the aircraft’s type-design holder and intellectual-property holder is frequently required because the aircraft is modified and used beyond its original design purpose. This suggests the requirement may be particularly relevant to organizations with specialized Convair 580 engineering, aircraft modification, aerospace manufacturing, or authorized design-data capabilities. However, the notice alone does not establish whether any particular business is eligible or able to perform the work. The tender is listed as open and closes October 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The official notice should be reviewed carefully for submission instructions, mandatory experience, certifications, security or technical requirements, standing-offer terms, and any conditions related to type-design authority or intellectual property.Official tender document: https://canadabuys.canada.ca/sites/default/files/webform/tender_notice/108735/26-58151_acan.pdf Verify all details against the official tender notice before preparing or submitting a bid.
